Sabotage
Sabotage
90’s Shotgun Distressed sweatshirt from Sabotage. Features a lightweight dust-washed black French terry cotton, presented as if it’s been blasted with buckshot and hastily repaired with contrasting embroidery thread. Designer Paul Harvey’s use of futuristic brand imagery for logos on the neck and sleeve creates a distinctly cyberpunk feel when coupled with the brand’s signature shotgun distressed-and-repaired methodology. Tagged size M this piece fits slightly slim and measures 20 inches pit to pit, sleeves 24.5 inches with a total length of 26.25 inches
Sabotage is a cult German brand founded in the early 1990’s. Central Saint Martins graduate Paul Harvey became their creative director after a brief stint as a truck driver, and propelled them into notoriety with their signature shotgun distressing and futuristic brand imagery. Paul Harvey’s success at Sabotage quickly found him an opportunity at Stone Island in 1996, leaving a young Errolson Hugh and Michaela Sachenbacher (of Acronym fame) to take his place as director of Sabotage. Paul Harvey left Stone Island in 2007 and has since worked for C.P. Company as a designer, leaving Sabotage to fade into obscurity in the early 2000’s as Errolson Hugh and Michaela Sachenbacher left to focus on their own design agency Acronym and its rising success.
