Rick Owens SLAB
Rick Owens SLAB
Grail early Rick Owens SLAB Spiral Cut distressed + burnt wax canvas work pants with slant cut pockets, nearly unworn and complete with original tags -size 31, fit large. Rick Owens SLAB is some of Rick Owens first menswear work and can be seen as a precursor to the original DRKSHDW line, which was meant to focus on experimental denim construction and processing. The name comes from RICK OWENS LAB, taking the S from Owens and becoming better known as SLAB due to Rick Owens being relatively unknown at the time. This (coupled with an extremely labor intensive production process) caused the line to unfortunately sell poorly. Luckily for the contemporary shopper, some of this stock was stored by collectors and is now available for purchase in its original state. This example is the best of this lines work, a distressed and painted pair of spiral cut canvas work trousers, coated in a protective wax which is then lightly burned, giving each pair a robust and unique finish.
