Helmut Lang SS1996 Flamethrower Denim
Share
The earliest iteration of Helmut Lang’s iconic flamethrower treated white denim, which were burned with a military grade flamethrower during production, giving them a lightly toasted atmosphere with varying degrees of distressing throughout. Lang continues to draw inspiration from military uniforms, this time referencing the U.S. military’s use of flamethrower units to clear brush & thick jungle landscapes during their controversial invasion of Vietnam. An essential part of Helmut Lang’s legacy at his eponymous label, we have a second pair seen on the runway of SS1998 available (at time of writing) for purchase in our main curation. This example is currently a part of our permanent collection and available for rental only. Send a message to inquire.
